FLC Workshop on Sustainability Across the Curriculum
Tuesday, Apr 17 | 6–8 p.m. in University Center 222 Faculty & Staff Lounge with dinner!
This workshop will have two components:
- Implementing sustainability
- Discussing a center for sustainability and what it can mean for you
Have you been wondering how to implement issues of sustainability in your classroom? While sustainability traditionally has been associated with nature outside of cities, today it is becoming increasingly obvious that sustainability practices are crucial for ensuring a vibrant future for all humans, and especially for the world’s poor.
This workshop will help you identify areas in your course or research that relate to sustainability, and assist you in developing sustainability-related aspects to your teaching. This could be a module, a class or reading, or a whole course. If you have specific teaching or research ideas that you know you would like to discuss, please send these along with your RSVP.
In this workshop we will also discuss plans for a new campus sustainability center, and ask participants for feedback on the vision for this center. Secondly, we will ask participants for feedback on how a center for sustainability can tie into their research and teaching.
Join the members of the Faculty Learning Community “Sustainability Across the Curriculum" for dinner and a workshop about identifying and highlighting elements of sustainability in your classroom! Please RSVP!
This workshop is co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost.
